The problem may have occurred as I was doing it on my brother's computer and he uses "Firefox" as a browser which doesn't always like downloading from various sites. Will try again now i am back in my flat....

See, this is another reason why is generally not a good idea to share ( certain ) shows in mp3 format - it makes it alot easier for some jerk to download and throw them up on places like ebay. ( and I seriously doubt a seller is going to care about mp3 vs. wav/lossless quality )
Oh well, now I know that Gemma seems to be one of those ebay "at risk" artists, sigh...

they could have got them from somewhere other than you (I've heard those shows haven't exactly been impossible to come by if you really wanted them), and they might have got a lot more buyers were they not available for free on here. There's loads of bootlegs on eBay, so it has its advantages and disadvantages

Yes, I know a person can easily download and convert a flac/shn show and sell it on ebay - however, most of these "sellers" are just looking for a quick buck, and want a show the easiest/fastest way they can get it. And it doesn't seem like more than a coincidence that these shows went up on ebay after mp3's became available? See the correlation?
And yes, there are lots of "bootlegs" on ebay, but it doesn't make it right for people to sell them. Most of the tapers I know get quite irritated when they find their work on ebay, and at large, puts sanctioned taping/trading at more risk. Ebay should put more effort in stopping it, but the fact is that they really don't care... |
